Long Island · Preserve What We Love

Skateboarders often get the question, "Why?" Why do you beat yourself up? Why do you keep trying a particular trick? And there is no clear answer to which we can respond; the sport just made us fall in love with every aspect of it and made us the person we are today. And all we really want is to keep on riding daily, share our passion with others, and keep discovering our planet while cruising on wheels.

At Long Island, we want to keep our passion alive, besides, we feel deeply inspired by our planet and all of its elements. Our sport got born out of the beauty of riding waves in the ocean, and when transferred to the streets, we continued the search of being connected with nature through all of our different skateboard styles, like downhill in the far high mountains, cruising through forests on our cruiser skateboards, and the exploration of surfing on land with surfskate.   That’s why we prioritize minimizing our environmental impact while producing high-quality skateboards and preserving our sport by taking care of our planet. To achieve our sustainability goals, we use eco-friendly materials in our production process.

We source our wood from sustainable forestry practices (FSC-wood), which plant back double the trees used. We recycle all waste plastic from our skateboard decks and eliminate plastic in every way we can. Also, we have implemented a closed-loop system where we recycle any excess materials, such as sawdust and wood scraps, to use in future production runs.   Our factory is equipped with a solar power system to reduce our energy consumption and lower our carbon footprint. We also prioritize the use of local suppliers to reduce transportation around the world.   Finally, we believe in giving back to the community around us and the environment.

We want to create a healthy future for the generations to follow so they can enjoy skateboarding and our planet the way it has been ever since.
